President Nelson posts a reel invitation to think celestial

Publish date: 2024-06-22

In a video message posted to his social media accounts on Sunday, Jan. 21, President Russell M. Nelson of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints repeated his “think celestial” invitation presented at the conclusion of the October 2023 general conference.

“When you make choices, I invite you to take the long view — an eternal view,” wrote President Nelson on the posts found on Facebook, Instagram and X (formerly Twitter). The accompanying 55-second video “reel” comprises audio and video clips from his conference address as well as video illustrations.

The video compilation also features the text of his spoken message, which reads:

“I invite you to adopt the practice of thinking celestial.

“When you are confronted with a dilemma, think celestial.

“When tested by temptation, think celestial.

“When life or loved ones let you down, think celestial.

“When someone dies prematurely, think celestial.

“When the pressures of life crowd in upon you, think celestial.

“I have learned that Heavenly Father’s plan for us is fabulous and that the Savior’s Atonement is what makes our Father’s plan possible.

“God lives. Jesus is the Christ. His Church has been restored to bless all of God’s children.”

Sunday’s posts are the second such series on President Nelson’s accounts in the new year. He started off 2024 on Jan. 1, marveling on his 100th New Year’s Day and inviting others to “marvel and rejoice” at Heavenly Father’s plan.
