Kyle Van Noy is an American football linebacker for the New England Patriots of the National Football League (NFL). He was born on March 26, 1991, Reno, Nevada, USA.
After playing college football at Brigham Young University (BYU), where he was recognized as a third-team All-American, Noy was drafted by the Detroit Lions in the second round of the 2014 NFL Draft.

Van Noy went to Brigham Young University for his college education where he played collegiate football for the school team which he joined in 2009. He missed playtime in his first season due to an honor code violation. Van Noy got letterman honors while making 38 tackles for the team upon his return the following year. As a sophomore, he had 68 tackles, three interceptions, and 7 sacks and was named to the Phil Steele All-Independent First Team as well as Yahoo Sports and FBS All-Independent teams.
As a junior, Van Noy led the conference in defense after making 53 tackles, 13 sacks, two interceptions, and 6 fumbles. The following year, he finished his college career with a flourish total of 70 tackles in thirteen gameplay and was named to the All-Independent First team while being named the All-Independent Defensive Player of the Year. He was equally named to the All-American Third team in the same year.

The Detroit Lions traded Van Noy and a seventh-round pick (239th overall) on October 25, 2016, in the 2017 NFL Draft to the New England Patriots in exchange for a sixth-round pick (215th overall) in 2017. Van Noy was inactive for his first two games with the Patriots (Weeks 8 and 10), and served as the backup weakside linebacker, behind Shea McClellin.
Van Noy played in his first game as a member of the Patriots on November 20, 2016, and recorded three combined tackles and one sack during their 30–17 win at the San Francisco 49ers in Week 11. He has been with the Patriots ever since.
